USS Galileo: Mission

Current Mission #2.0:
Mission Genesis:
The Galileo is to go the desert planet of Antaris IV and collected samples of soil and atmosphere levels. They are to look for any signs of life, either native or colonial and are to report back to Starfleet Command on their findings as to how suitable the world would be for colonisation.
Backstory:
The Antari System is one of the desert systems frequently ignored by Starfleet as completely uninhabitable by even basic organisms. However, there has been rumour of a crash landing of a non-Federation vessel on either Antaris II, III or IV and a subsequent rumour that there are survivors. The Federation are now interested to find out whether it would, in fact, be possible for the soil and somehow oxygen orientated atmosphere of Antaris IV could sustain life for a Federation colony.

Past Missions
Mission Genesis #1.5:
The Galileo has returned to their home base, Starbase 17 and is currently meeting new crew, receiving awards and news of their next mission, whilst Koreen lies in a bad state in Sickbay from an unknown illness.

Mission Genesis #1.0:
A simple cruise and analysis designed to shake the bugs out of the ship and pass on some information back to Starfleet. The formation is only two days away at warp four, but the engines shouldn't be pushed much more. We are to scan the anomaly, collect and analyse the results. The results of our scans are not only relavent to exploration, but also to the inhabitants of the planet Hikron II. It has been theorised by Federation scientists that the magnetic field of the anomaly is having negative effects upon the non-Federation planet. We've also been warned by Starfleet to be wary around the Hikron's homeworld - they were rejected in their application to the Federation and may hold some kind of grudge against Starfleet.

Technological Devolution:
Upon approaching the system the Galileo's engines, computer system and scanners went haywire. Communications are scrambled with static ship wide and thus they are stranded with only impulse engines to get them anywhere.

Jealous Nation:
The Galileo has been boarded by unknown assailents and of an unknown quantity. Communications and sensors are all but useless on the severely crippled ship and the intruders have already managed to murder Lt. Marc Williamson. The aliens have now been contained by the Galileo's expert security team and all that remains is to contact the homeworld and analyse the anomaly that was the cause of all this.
